Purple is My Colour of the Year AND I Didn’t Even Mean to Choose It 💜
Okay, hear me out… I think purple might just be my colour of the year. And honestly? It happened completely by accident. I’ve never even been the biggest purple fan, it’s just not a colour I gravitate towards. But lately? I can’t stop reaching for it.
Maybe it’s the influence of Huda Beauty’s viral purple baking powder or all the buzz around The Color Purple (nope, still haven’t seen it!). Either way, I think the universe has been subtly planting purple into my brain and now I’m fully on board.
The Pastel Purple Makeup Look That Changed Everything
I recently tried out a soft pastel purple makeup look, and it was chef’s kiss. Not a deep, bold purple but a dreamy, ethereal lavender that completely surprised me with how flattering it was.

❀ It made my brown eyes stand out LOVE THAT
❀ The whole vibe? Ultra feminine and honestly made me feel like a fairy!
To make the eyeshadow really stand out, I used the Made By Mitchell Colour Case a go-to for anyone who loves experimenting and able to make your own custom colours. It’s so creamy and blendable, and you can mix shades until you create your dream hue. I do wish I had more eyeshadow palettes so that I could set it with, but honestly? The dry-down on the Colour Case is amazing, so it held its own.
For the rest of my face, I leaned into a baby doll blush moment light, rosy cheeks to complement the pastel eyes. On the lips, I outlined with a brown shade (again from Made By Mitchell’s neutral Colour Case), then layered a few different pink tones in the center for a dimensional ombré lip. Tip: mixing multiple lip products = the secret to a lip that stands out!
This look would be SO perfect for a summer wedding or a cute brunch date. Just dreamy, soft glam vibes all around.

A couple weeks later, I got inspired to recreate an old nail set but this time, I wanted it in a light, pastel lavender. Of course, I didn’t have the exact shade I pictured… so I did what any nail art lover would do: I mixed my own!
I played around with a few gel polishes from my collection, and voilà I created the perfect milky pastel purple. The final set was giving Korean/Japanese nail inspo: think chrome details, glitter, pearls, and all the kawaii vibes. So soft, sooooo cute ^_^
It’s wild how one colour can shift your vibe. From playful pastel makeup to dreamy DIY nails, purple has officially entered my beauty world and I’m loving every second of it.
If you’re sleeping on purple, let this be your sign. Whether you’re going full glam or just adding a lilac liner or shimmer gloss, there’s a shade for every mood and every skin tone.
I’m absolutely going to be finding more purples to go into my wardrobe, shoes, accessories, and clothes, I’m even thinking of getting a purple phone case! When I do find some cute pieces I’ll update you for sure maybe at the end of summer? A haul of purples? Sounds good right?! ^_^
